What an honor it was to participate in the Healing Field this past Memorial Day weekend. It was a true tribute to our fallen comrades in arms. The weekend started out late Thursday night and early Friday morning with a number of our members setting up nearly three thousand 3X5 American flags on the grounds of Kaneland High School. It was a sight to behold. All weekend, Rudy Keller of Kaneland H.S. and organizer of the Healing Field had planned events. On Memorial Day our Post Honor Guard and Rifle Squad assisted with the service ending with a 21 gun salute. Stacy Rapach, our bugler played taps with another bugler echoing in the rear to end the ceremony. I want to send out thanks to all our members that participated and to Legion Post 630 of Elburn and Post 1271 of Sugar Grove for their help and participation.
