It is with deep sorrow that I report the passing of Alfred L. Larson. Alfred has been a member of Post 312 for 55 years.
Alfred’s American Legion record shows that he is a United States Marine veteran who served during World War II. We honor his service to our country in time of need, his bravery for putting his life in harm’s way and his 55 years of dedication to the American Legion. During his time at Maple Park Post 312, Alfred volunteered for many Legion community programs. His time spent with his fellow veterans and friends is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
Although I never had the opportunity to meet Alfred personally, I have heard many stories of him from our members, and they all have been very complimentary. Alfred was also an American Legion Paid Up For Life Member.
Alfred passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at his home in Tampa Florida. He is survived by his two sons Joel and Daniel and grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St. Elburn, Illinois on Tuesday, March 4, between 4 and 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name to benefit Alfred's favorite charities. Checks can be made to the "Alfred Larsen Memorial" and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, IL. 60119
