National Raises Dues $5.00 Per Member PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 15 September 2015 09:12

Greetings Fellow Legionnaire,                                        September 12, 2015

Important membership news.
At the recent National Headquarters Convention, a resolution was passed to increase National dues by $5.00 per member, effective January 10, 2016.  It is also believed that the American Legion Dept. of Illinois will raise their dues next year as well to keep up with increased costs.

What this means to you is Maple Park Post 312 must raise our yearly dues to pay for the dues increase by National HDQ’s.  Currently, our Post dues are $28.00 per year.  We send $26.00 of that to the Department of Illinois and the Post keeps $2.00.  That $2.00 pays for clerical supplies like stamps, envelopes and paper.

At our September Post meeting after much discussion, the members present made and passed a motion to raise our Post dues $5.00 to $33.00 dollars per year effective January 10, 2016 to meet the National HDQ’s dues increase.  This means, that if you pay your 2016 dues before that date, you renew at our current rate of $28.00.  After that date, you will pay the increased rate of $33.00.

BUT WAIT!!  YOU HAVE TWO MORE OPTIONS TO SAVE MONEY!!

5 year gold card SAMPLE SM pufl card sm

THE 5 YEAR GOLD CARD PLAN
Lock the $28.00 rate in for 5 years regardless of whether or not the Dept. of Illinois increases their dues next year.  If you have not yet already renewed for 2016, you pay $140.00 (5x28=140) and receive a 5 Year Gold Card.  You do not have to worry about paying dues for another 5 Years.  Mail your payment to the Post prior to January 10th and we will process the paperwork for you.
NOTE:   If you have already renewed for 2016, you can still become a 5 Year Gold Card member.  Send in $112.00 (4x28=112) to the Post and you will receive a 5 Year Gold Card.

PAID UP FOR LIFE (PUFL)
Become a PUFL member and never worry about paying dues again.  You pay at the lower rate plus get a $100 discount and you can make 12 easy payments.  To find out how much it would cost you to become a PUFL member, go online to
